Applications of Target Tracking Infrared Camera in Fire Fighting
2019-07-18 15:25Fire protection is the largest civilian market for infrared cameras in developed countries. Infrared cameras are widely used in fire rescue and facility detection for its nature in smoke and temperature measurement. In accordance with the statistics released by Fire Department under Ministry of Public Security of China, there are about 5,000 fire stations in China. However, according to the requirements indicated in Construction Standards for New Fire Stations in 2011 revised by the National Development and Reform Commission that fire station needs to be equipped with 2 sets of thermal cameras for firefighting, in which huge gap exists between the number of firefighting trucks and that of thermal cameras if relative organizations abide by the regulations that the first-level fire station should have 5-7 fire engines, second-level stations have 2-4 while special fireworks have 8-11 firefighting vehicles. In the case of frequent incidents, the disadvantages of inadequate thermal equipment will be magnified. With the development of China's economy and society, the trend of equipping more infrared cameras to fire stations is becoming inevitable. If each fire engine has an infrared camera, the market demand for the thermal device in China's fire protection industry is expected to reach 30,000.
IRSEEN’s target tracking thermal cameras can be integrated into SCBA mask or fire helmet as an auxiliary tool for fire detection. It can be used to determine the position of the flame center, the degrees of combustion and spread while providing a basic information for the commander on the spot, especially in conditions such as smoldering or heavy fog that our eyes can hardly distinguish what happened on the ground. The use of infrared cameras can effectively improve the efficiency of fire extinguishing and reduce water loss during firefighting. In addition, infrared camera can continuously help firefighters detect the load-bearing parts of the building and determine in real time which parts need special cooling to ensure the safety of the plant and personnel. IRSEEN’s product can effectively lock the trapped people through smoke with tracking function which will help firefighter in evacuation. A research data shows that infrared cameras will reduce 80% time spent comparing to that of activities without the help of thermal devices in the indoor fire scene under the same smoke condition which improved the efficiency and success in rescue.
